When MBT Bolt coupler are Used ?
MBT bolt couplers are specifically chosen for scenarios where traditional lapping or threaded splicing is impossible or impractical.
When to Use MBT Bolt Couplers
Retrofitting & Repair Work: Ideal for replacing corroded or damaged rebar in existing structures.
Since the "fixed" bar is already cast in concrete and cannot be moved or rotated, the MBT coupler can simply be slid over the existing end Restricted Space: Used in "congested" reinforcement areas where there isn't enough room for the long overlapping lengths required by traditional lap splicing.
Materials & Sizes
Material: High-strength seamless steel body with hardened alloy steel "lock-shear" bolts.
Internal Grip: Hardened steel rails inside the sleeve "bite" into the rebar.
Sizes: Available for rebar diameters from 10mm to 40mm (the coupler grows in length and bolt count as the diameter increases).
| Rebar Diameter | Approx. Coupler Length | Number of Bolts |
| 10 mm | 100 mm | 4 |
| 12 mm | 140 mm | 6 |
| 16 mm | 160 mm | 6 |
| 20 mm | 200 mm | 8 |
| 25 mm | 250 mm | 10 |
| 32 mm | 310 mm | 12 |
| 40 mm | 470 mm | 14 |
